Bacoor celebrates 340th founding anniversary

MANILA, Philippines - The city of Bacoor in Cavite has lined up a series of activities and programs geared towards environmental awareness and protection, preservation of its rich culture and history, and boost its campaign for cityhood, in celebration of its 340th founding anniversary.

The theme of this year’s celebration is “Isang Makasaysayan at Makakalikasang Turismo ng Bacoor Tungo sa Lungsod na Progresibo.”

In his speech, Sen. Francis Escudero, who was guest of honor at a ceremony held last Sept. 26 at the Bacoor Coliseum, congratulated League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) president Mayor Strike Revilla and the Bacoorenos.

Escudero also expressed his support to the Bacoor cityhood bill. The bill had passed the House of Representatives and is up for approval at the Senate.

Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla, director Louella Jurilla of the Department of Tourism Region IV office, Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, Vice Mayor Rosette Miranda Fernando, Board member Ramon Jolo Revilla III, Association of Barangay Captains vice president Karen Evaristo Sarino, Sangguniang Bayan members officials of Bacoor’s 73 barangays, municipal department/unit heads and employees, NGO’s, teachers and students, representatives from the business sectors, sponsors, and private individuals also attended the affair.
