'Always keep creeks clean'

- Ding Cervantes -

ANGELES CITY – Stop using waterways as dumps.

Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan issued this warning to business establishments and households yesterday as he ordered the putting up of steel grills along the creek in Barangays Cutcut, Sta. Trinidad, Pampang, San Nicolas, Sto. Rosario, San Jose, Pulungbulo and Sto. Domingo, to prevent local folk from throwing wastes into the channel.

“This must be stopped and we need to implement the law to the fullest. The creek has become a dumping site of pollutants and this has to be addressed immediately,” he said.

Earlier this month, the city governments of Angeles and San Fernando signed a commitment agreement on the cleanup of waterways and tributaries in line with the Supreme Court ruling on the rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
