-

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – A 79-year-old Filipino-American resident of a northern Cagayan town, who was earlier reported to have been kidnapped, was found dead in a pastureland earlier this week, police said yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Mao Aplasca, Cagayan police director, said the victim, Nonato Tamayo, of Simpatuyo village in Santa Teresita town, was reportedly seized by at least three men from his residence last Tuesday.

Aplasca said the body of Tamayo, who was shot in the forehead, was found in Santa Isabel village in adjacent Buguey town later that day. – Charlie Lagasca, Raymund Catindig
