Pagadian exec slain

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur ,Philippines  – A ranking official of this capital city was gunned down late Friday afternoon by two motorcycle-riding men along Pajares Avenue here.

Police said city administrative officer II Rene Ebol was alighting from his vehicle in front of a fast food restaurant along with a companion when one of the motorcycle-riding men pulled out a gun and fired several times at Ebol and his companion.

Though hit in the shoulder, Ebol’s companion managed to return fire, hitting the gunman who was later arrested by the restaurant’s security guard and turned over to the police.

Ebol was rushed to a nearby private hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
