Landslide displaces 76 Zambales families
MANILA, Philippines - Seventy-six families were left homeless after a landslide hit one of the towns of Zambales on Thursday night, disaster management officials said.
Citing field reports, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council executive director Benito Ramos said the landslide destroyed 65 houses in Barangay Asinan proper in Subic town.
Ramos said there were no casualties in the landslide that was triggered by continuous heavy rains.
He said the affected families have been brought to evacuation centers.
Zambales is one of the provinces that experienced monsoon rains caused by typhoon “Kabayan” and tropical depression “Lando.”
