Sun provides free calls to Bicol folk

-

MANILA, Philippines - Sun Cellular, in partnership with the National Telecommunications Commission, has provided free calls to residents of at least 10 barangays in the Bicol region hardest hit by typhoon “Juaning.”

Sun call booths stationed at evacuation centers in Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, and Camarines Norte provided free Sun-to-Sun, Sun-to-any- landline, Sun-to-any wireless network, NDD, and IDD calls.

“Digitel and Sun Cellular have always reached out to the public, especially in times of calamities like this. On top of the unlimited calls and text messages that we provide as our regular service, these free call activities give the victims a venue to connect to their families here and abroad,” said lawyer Bill Pamintuan, Digitel senior vice president for legal services. Digitel is Sun Cellular’s parent company.

During the onslaught of the typhoon, Sun Cellular’s network coverage remained strong and consistent, ensuring that communication would remain seamless despite the rough weather conditions.

“Communication is vital especially during calamities, thus we make sure that our network remains strong and reliable no matter what the situation is,” Pamintuan said.
