Manila Water inaugurates logistics hub in Antipolo

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines - With increasing pipe-laying projects in Rizal towns, Manila Water Inc. has constructed a logistics hub in Antipolo City to store various materials for its expansion program.

The logistics hub, located in Sitio Saruna, Barangay Mambugan, will also serve other projects of Manila Water in the cities of Marikina and Pasig, said Ding Carpio, the firm’s group director for operations.

“With less time for travel, less hassle for number coding and traffic, contractors can do repair work and complete the project on time. The facility also serves as part of the contingency plans designed in cases of calamities like earthquakes or floods,” Carpio said.

Manila Water chief finance officer Luis Juan Oreta said the masterplan is to divide the operating area into four quadrants “to ensure that in case of emergency… there will be continuous service, and this is the first of those satellite offices in Rizal province. It’s a very important expression of our commitment to Antipolo City as well as to our customers.”

Antipolo City Mayor Nilo Leyble expressed hope that the partnership with Manila Water would bring about not only progress but also jobs for city residents.

The Manila Water logistics hub was inaugurated yesterday, graced by Leyble and Manila Water officials – Gerry Ablaza, president and chief operating officer; Oreta; Ferdinand de la Cruz, group director for the Eastern Zone business operations; and Esmeralda Quines, area business manager.
