Pangilinan to help build tech-voc schools in Pampanga
APALIT, Pampanga ,Philippines – Businessman Manuel Pangilinan will help in putting up technical and vocational schools in this province for the benefit of poor students.
Pangilinan gave this assurance to Gov. Lilia Pineda, after the governor sought his assistance when he held a medical mission and visited public schools here to celebrate his 65th birthday last Friday.
Pineda said the tech-voc schools will also be open to students from other provinces in Central Luzon and the tuition will also be socialized like in state universities and colleges. She also promised to support students in the planned schools by giving scholarships.
She stressed the need for more students to take up vocational and technical courses for their future employment at the Clark Freeport Zone. There are at least 507 firms at the Freeport which generated some 61,000 jobs as of last month.
Pineda also cited the need for “more skillful Pampanga workers” in aviation and tourism industries given the increased aviation activities at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport.
