2 brods held for car theft

-

MANILA, Philippines - Two men, who introduced themselves as agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), were arrested for driving a stolen car in Bacoor, Cavite over the weekend.

Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina, Highway Patrol Group (HPG) director, said the suspects, John Arellano, 34, and his brother, Prince Ray Arellano, 26, claimed they were NBI agents but the agency’s Cavite office disproved this.

Espina said the Arellano brothers were held as they were about to leave a convenience store in Bacoor onboard a stolen green Nissan X-Trail (with license plate XMF-298). They tried to escape, but was subdued by policemen.

Records show the vehicle, owned by one Normita Domingo, was stolen at the parking area of the Command and General Staff College at Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City last July 7. – Cecille Suerte Felipe, Ed Amoroso
