Big-time marijuana dealer in CAR falls
La Trinidad, Benguet ,Philippines – A big-time dealer of processed marijuana fell into the hands of anti-narcotics agents this week.
Romeo Basake Kilongan, who hails from Sagada town in Mountain Province was caught by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera selling four bricks of hashish to a government agent posing as a buyer at Mines View Park.
The hashish bricks, which weigh a total of 210.50 grams are wrapped in transparent plastic wrappers and concealed in a newspaper.
PDEA said Kilongan, 43, who is in the “Target List of Drug Personalities in the Cordillera Region,” sells his contraband exclusively to foreigners.
Chief Inspector Edgar Apalla of PDEA-Cordillera said Kilongan admitted getting his supply from a hashish producer in Kalinga.
Apalla said Kilongan also works as a tourist guide, second-hand garment (wag-wag or ukay-ukay) businessman, construction contractor and vegetable trader as cover for his illegal trade.
Kilongan is facing violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
