BALANGA CITY ,Philippines – Four people were killed when a wayward tractor rammed into a store in Dinalupihan, Bataan Friday night, police said.
Senior Superintendent Arnold Gunnacao, Bataan police director, said the tractor’s driver, Lauro Verdillo, 32, gave himself up after the accident.
Verdillo told police he was on his way to Olongapo City when the tractor developed mechanical trouble upon reaching Barangay Luacan in Dinalupihan town.
Gunnacao said the fatalities – Jayson Miranda and his relative Marleen Miranda, Estella Mallari, and Michael Isip – were about to buy items from the store when the tractor hit them.
Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide have been filed against Verdillo.
