2 dead, 10 hurt in Negros road collision

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Two passengers were killed and 10 others sustained injuries when a 10-wheeler cargo truck and an overloaded tricycle collided along the highway in Valladolid, Negros Occidental Tuesday night, police said.

The fatalities were identified as Romulado Yanos, 50, and Peter Louis Ferrera, 11. They were among the 11 passengers of a tricycle driven by Rodgen Perera that came from Pulupandan town.

The cargo truck driven by Joemarie Avila, 19, was negotiating a road curve in Barangay Pacol, Valladolid town when it smashed into the tricycle, police said.
