BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – The Tuguegarao archdiocese in Cagayan marked its centennial jubilee recently with its spiritual theme “Growing Together in Age, Wisdom and Grace.”
Cagayan Valley tourism director Blessida Diwa said the event also marked the 25th anniversary celebration of the installation of Tuguegarao Archbishop Diosdado Talamayan.
The four-day centennial celebration was highlighted by Eucharistic ceremonies, processions, vigils, the “Walk for Life” and the blessing of the centennial souvenir.
The Tuguegarao archdiocese, which covers the whole Cagayan province, is home to some of the country’s oldest churches such as those in the towns of Iguig, Alcala, Pamplona, Buguey, Ballesteros, Tuao and Lallo.
