LEGAZPI CITY , Philippines – At least four chidren died in two separate drowning incidents in Pasacao and Nabua towns in Camarines Sur on Black Saturday and Easter Sunday, respectively, reports reaching Camp General Simeon Ola here said yesterday.
Seven-year-old Reagan Quilala was found drowned several minutes after he was noticed to be missing inside the Villa Consuelo Beach Resort in Sitio Magtabid, Cararan in Pasacao, Camarines Sur on Saturday. Authorities believed that the victim was not immediately noticed and rescued while drowning as the resort was jampacked with occupants that day.
Meanwhile, siblings Wilson and Maria Luson, both below 10 years old, and their friend Joseph Guazon were drowned when they slipped into a river bank adjacent to the Tupaz Beach Report in Barangay La Purisima Nabua, Camarines Sur on Easter Sunday.
The victims’ bodies were retrieved five to 10 hours after they were swept away by the river’s currents.
