- Evelyn Macairan -

MANILA, Philippines - The body of a third fishermen killed in last Friday’s collision of a wooden-hulled fishing boat and a oil tanker off Sangley Point in Cavite City was recovered yesterday morning, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

The decomposing body of 40-year-old Armando Huab was positively identified by his wife before it was taken by the Navotas City police for examination, the PCG said.

The two other fatalities were earlier identified as Eric Aporto, 18, a graduating high school student, and Mark Navarro, 30.

The fishing boat, F/B Lady Aleah, was 2.8 nautical miles off Sangley Point when the steel-hulled oil tanker M/T Hagonoy, owned by Herma Shipping Lines, hit it at the starboard (right side).

Mariano Santiago, captain of F/B Lady Aleah, quoted the tanker’s lookout as saying that he left his post to make coffee.

On board the fishing boat were 71 fishermen and crewmembers.
