MANILA, Philippines - Two men died while another remained missing when an oil tanker rammed into a fishing boat near Sangley Point in Cavite City early yesterday morning, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

PCG spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Armand Balilo identified the fatalities as Eric Aporto, 18, a graduating high school student, and Mark Navarro, 30. Missing was fisherman Armando Huab, 40.

Investigation showed that the wooden-hulled F/B Lady Aleah, owned by Mario de la Cruz, was fishing 2.8 nautical miles off Sangley Point when it was hit at the starboard (right side) by the steel-hulled motor tanker M/T Hagonoy

On board F/B Lady Aleah, which left Navotas Thursday, were 71 fishermen and crewmembers.
