3 dead, 2 hurt in Davao ambush

MANILA, Philippines - Three civilians were killed and two others were wounded when 10 heavily armed men ambushed a convoy of dump trucks in Bongmal, Davao del Sur Friday afternoon, the military said.

Lt. Col. Lyndon Paniza, spokesman of the Army’s 10th Infantry Division, said the ambush occurred within the exploration area of Sagittarius Mines Inc. He ruled out the involvement of the New People’s Army in the attack.
