5 Pangasinan school heads probed on NAT leakage

- Eva Visperas -

MANGALDAN, Pangasinan, Philippines  – Five school heads from this town were suspended for 90 days after a fact-finding team found them liable for the alleged leak of test papers of the National Achievement Test (NAT) for Grade 6 pupils recently.

Dr. Ligaya Soledad Miguel, Department of Education (DepEd) Region 1 director, did not identify those suspended but said they are either principals or teachers-in-charge in their schools.

The DepEd regional office will handle the cases of dishonesty and grave misconduct against the suspended school heads.

The NAT was given nationwide last March 14 but test questions were reportedly given in advance by some teachers in this town based on video footage shown by a local television station.

Police, along with a TV crew, conducted a surprise raid on a school and found photocopies of NAT test papers supposedly for distribution.
