BATANGAS, Philippines – A former vice mayor of Alitagtag town here was killed in an ambush yesterday morning, police said.
Senior Inspector Michael Encio, Alitagtag police chief, said the victim, Noriel Salazar, Alitagtag vice mayor from 2007 to 2010, had just dropped off his wife in a bank where she works when two motorcycle-riding men approached his Toyota Lite Ace from behind and shot him in the head with a caliber .45 pistol. – Arnell Ozaeta, Ed Amoroso
