ZAMBOANGA CITY, MANILA, Philippines – Marine intelligence agents have captured an Abu Sayyaf member tagged in bombings and the 2008 kidnapping of broadcaster Ces Drilon and three others.
Lt. Col. Randolf Cabangbang, spokesman of the Armed Forces’ Western Mindanao Command, said Said Sali, 20, who belongs to the urban terrorist group of the Abu Sayyaf under sub-leader Jamiri Jawhari, was intercepted at the Jolo, Sulu pier yesterday morning.
Brig. Gen. Romeo Tanalgo, Sulu Island Command chief, said Sali tried to escape by jumping off the wharf but was found two hours later.
