Husband of actress' slain niece arrested

MANILA, Philippines - The husband of a slain niece of actress Angel Locsin was arrested yesterday in his hiding place in Maasin, Leyte.

Fernando Sansan, 44, a fruit vendor, admitted killing his wife, Rachelle Marie Salvador Sansan, 28, at the height of an argument in their house in Kalubihan, Banawa, Cebu City last Nov. 4.

“He did not give any reason why he killed his wife. But he showed remorse for the crime,” said Superintendent Rolando Tumalad, chief of the 8th Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit based in Tacloban City.

Tumalad said Sansan was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Wilfredo Fiel Navarro of the Regional Trial Court, 7th Judicial Region, Branch 19 in Cebu City.
