Pineapple firm worker beheaded
KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – A 24-year-old employee of a giant pineapple firm in South Cotabato province was beheaded by unknown assailants in the open fields in T’boli town yesterday, a report said.
A report relayed by the T’boli police station to the South Cotabato Provincial Command yesterday afternoon here, identified the victim as Jonifer Lapinig, a sprayman of DOLE Philippines based in nearby Polomolok town.
The victim’s headless body was found by passing residents in the open pineapple plantation in the village of Sinolon of the said municipality past 9 a.m., the report said.
It said the decapitated body of the victim was found dumped some 20 meters away from his head.
Aside from being decapitated, the victim also reportedly bore multiple hack wounds on the lower part of the body.
Some Sinolon residents, who were waiting for T’boli-bound jeepney at the city terminal here, confirmed the incident, saying they were shocked when they saw the victim’s headless body on top of his own dried blood.
