Agusan Sur town administrator shot dead
BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – Two men armed with .45 caliber pistols shot dead the municipal administrator of Sibagat, Agusan del Sur last Tuesday night, authorities said.
Police said the victim, Medel Sambolod Samson, 45, was about to enter the gate of his house in Purok-6, Barangay Poblacion, Sibagat town on his motorcycle when the gunmen appeared and shot him twice in the back and head, with one of the bullets piercing his lower jaw.
Samson’s family rushed him to a private hospital in this city where was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians.
Police probers were still clueless on the killing.
Sibagat town, some 20 kilometers from this city, used to be one of the “timber capitals” of Agusan del Sur, if not of the entire Caraga region.
