Ex-governor LP bet in Cagayan special poll

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya , Philippines   – Former governor Edgar Lara will be the official bet of President Aquino’s Liberal Party in the forthcoming special election for Cagayan’s second congressional district post.

Lara, former member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition, yesterday said his joining the LP was formalized the other day following his oath-taking as party member before President Aquino, the LP’s chairman.

“Definitely, I will be the (LP) official candidate in the election,” said Lara who was the district’s congressman before he was elected governor for two consecutive terms.
