Korean man, driver hurt in Cavite attack

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A Korean national and his driver were shot and wounded by two motorcycle-riding men in Imus, Cavite on Monday morning, police said.

Senior Superintendent Danilo Maligalig, Cavite police director, said Korean national Bum Park Chan was hit in the leg and declared out of danger, while his driver, Lawel Mirandilla, sustained multiple bullet wounds.

Reports reaching Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr., Calabarzon police director, said the victims were cruising Barangay Malagasang II-D, Imus town on board a Toyota Fortuner when they were waylaid.

Police said Chan had just come from his residence in Alabang, Muntinlupa and was en route to Gen. Trias town to play golf when he and his driver were ambushed.
