Lawman dares boss to gunfight

COTABATO CITY, Philippines  – Coolers heads yesterday prevented a gun duel between the police director of North Cotabato and a subordinate-officer over a missing rifle.

Senior Superintendent Cornelio Salinas, North Cotabato police director, immediately ordered the detention of Inspector Erwin Tabora after responding policemen disarmed him of two caliber .45 pistols.

Tabora dared Salinas to a gunfight in their headquarters in Amas, Kidapawan City. Salinas earlier had charged Tabora of stealing his service rifle, sparking the animosity between them.
