CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Robbers dug up a 250-meter hole leading to a pawnshop in Angeles City where they carted away jewelry worth more than a million pesos, police said.
Wilfredo Reyes, owner of the San Angelo Pawnshop, told police that he and his wife went to the pawnshop last Sunday to get a USB cable and left with all windows locked and the jewelry intact.
The next day, however, they found the pawnshop in disarray and the vault forcibly opened.
Policemen discovered the hole dug up by the robbers, and crawling through it, they found that it led to a manhole at the Pulungbulu Bridge where they recovered equipment used by the robbers, as well as eight Louis Vuitton handbags worth P60,000 and diamond rings.
