3 dead, 15 hurt as jeep falls off cliff in La Union

- Jun Elias -

CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union, Philippines  – Three men were killed and 15 others, including two minors, were seriously injured when the passenger jeep they were riding fell into a 30-meter ravine in the mountainous village of Ramot in Santol town this province yesterday morning.

Senior Superintendent Ramon Purugganan, La Union police director, identified the fatalities as Anthony Bagawe Jr.; Luciano Dangla, 42; and Lorenzo Ancheta, 25.

Purugganan said the passenger jeep had just come from the remote area of Sasaba near the La Union-Benguet boundary when it lost its brakes.

Jeepney driver Domingo Dangla tried to prevent any misfortune by crashing the jeep into the roadside, but it instead fell off the cliff.
