Vizcaya shells out P35 million for Yule perks
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – The provincial government shelled out at least P35 million for the extra bonuses of its more than 1,000 employees, who received as much as P30,000 each, the biggest among government workers in the region.
Provincial board member Efren Quiben, who chairs the board’s appropriations committee, said they passed an ordinance approving the release of P35.15 million from the provincial government coffers to cover the extra year-end benefits of provincial employees.
As such, permanent and casual employees received P30,000 each as extra Christmas pay, an optional incentive from the provincial government.
The amount was much higher that those given to the provincial employees of Isabela, Cagayan, Quirino and Batanes.
