20 soldiers hurt in mishap

MANILA, Philippines- Twenty Army soldiers were injured, four of them seriously, in a vehicular accident in San Andres, Catanduanes yesterday morning, the military said.

Reports reaching the Army’s 9th Infantry Division said the accident involved a military truck carrying members of the 83rd Infantry Battalion.

Lt. Col. Danilo Aquino, commander of the 83rd IB, said the M35 6x6 truck lost its brake downhill in San Jose village in San Andres town.

The soldiers on board the truck were on their way to their base from a security operation in the capital town of Virac.
