STAR lensman falls prey to 'bukas-kotse' gang

- Artemio Dumlao -

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – STAR photographer Fernando Zapata Jr. became the latest victim of the “bukas-kotse” gang in this resort city, losing equipment worth at least P350,000 Wednesday night.

Zapata also lost a laptop, jewelry and sunglasses to robbers who broke into his Mitsubishi Adventure along Leonard Wood street.

The passenger window of Zapata’s vehicle was shattered, allowing the robbers to cart away a Canon 50D camera, 10-22mm Canon lens, 70-200 Canon lens, and other photographic equipment.

Police have organized a tracker team to go after the robbers, as they anticipate criticisms from the local media on the spate of mostly unsolved robberies in the city.
