New AFP area command heads

MANILA, Philippines - Two military area commanders were given new assignments in the latest leadership movement in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

AFP spokesman Brig. Gen. Jose Mabanta Jr. said President Aquino has named outgoing Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) chief Lt. Gen. Raymundo Ferrer as commander of the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom).

Ferrer will replace Maj. Gen. Romeo Lustestica, who was named acting Wesmincom chief after Lt. Gen. Ben Dolorfino retired from the service.

NCRCOM vice commander Brig. Gen. Romeo Fajardo will serve as the command’s officer-in-charge until a permanent commander is named.
