MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the Ombudsman has issued a six-month suspension order against Edgar Santos, chief of the register of deeds of Calamba, Laguna, after finding him guilty of approving the irregular transfer of ownership of a property in Montalban, Rizal.
The anti-graft agency also ordered the filing of estafa charges against acting Marikina City registrar of deeds Artemio Caña for allegedly falsifying documents also in relation to the illegal transfer of ownership of land bought by the Philippine Veterans Bank.
