Father, son plead not guilty in slay

DAVAO CITY, Philippines  – A father and son accused in the killing of the owner of a telephone company in Mati, Davao Oriental more than a month ago, pleaded not guilty to the murder charges last Thursday.

Security was tight when the accused, Nico Silvestre Gonzales and his father Rodolfo, were arraigned for the killing of Connie Go, owner of the Mati Telephone Co.

The elder Gonzales and Go had reportedly been lovers for almost 30 years, and she was said to have despised the young Gonzales whom she suspected was the product of the former’s illicit affair with another woman.
