Telus holds 'Day of Service'

-

MANILA, Philippines - Rain poured that day and slippery mud made it difficult to work. But the situation could not dampen the high spirits of more than 1,000 volunteers of Telus International Philippines who worked together for community service in five different locations simultaneously. It was not an ordinary day for them – it was the annual Telus Day of Service.

The five sites included Bantay Kalikasan’s resettlement site in Bayan ni Juan in Calauan, Laguna; Gawad Kalinga (GK) sites in Tandang Sora and Batasan Hills in Quezon City; Bantay Bata Children’s Village in Bulacan; and Estero de Paco along the Pasig River in Manila.

Canadian Ambassador Christopher Thornley, along with GK founder Tony Meloto and Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, witnessed the outpouring of support from around 400 Telus volunteers in GK Batasan Hills alone.
