Caraga has 204 poll hot spots

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – A total of 204 barangays in the Caraga region are included in the joint watch list of the police, military and the Commission on Elections’ Task Force HOPE (Honest, Orderly and Peaceful Elections) for Monday’s barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Of the 204 barangays, Chief Superintendent Reynaldo Rafal, Caraga police director, said nine are in this city, the region’s capital.

Rafal said majority of the 204 barangay poll hot spots are areas affected by the operations of the New People’s Army (NPA).

Around 14 NPA fronts operate in Mindanao: nine at the northeastern front and five at the north-central front.
