Suspect in woman's beheading arrested

ANGELES CITY, Philippines – The suspect in the beheading of a woman was arrested in a gas station along McArthur Highway in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga, yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Danilo Bautista, Angeles City police director, identified the suspect as Adonis Reyes, 30, a resident of Fiesta Community in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat and a call center agent of Sutherland Global Services Philippines inside Clark.

Reyes was collared by police team headed by Chief Inspector Romeo Castro of Police Station 3, during a hot-pursuit operation in a gas station in Dau, at about 10:40 a.m., Bautista said.

He said that Reyes was posi­tively identified by a roomboy and supervisor of the Miyabe Court where the victim was found inside the bathroom of Room 518.

Bautista said the suspect was also positively identified by a tricycle driver who brought him to the said hotel to Dau, Friday night. 

The suspect is believed to be responsible in the killing of a female found headless inside the Miyabe Court located in Barangay Pulung Maragul, here, at about 7 p.m. Saturday. 

The headless body of the female was identified by her relatives as Katrina Gatan, 22, a call center agent also of Sutherland and resident of Filipi­niana Subdivision in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat.

Relatives of the victim reported to police that Gatan was missing since Friday .

Bautista said that a case of murder is being readied for filling in court against the suspect.
