Man faces raps for death of woman in his burnt car

This developed as two kilometers away, also last Saturday night, a bellboy found the headless body of a woman in a room at the Miyabe Court, a motel in Pulung Maragul, Angeles City, near the area where a Briton was shot dead last Sept. 21. The victim remained unidentified as of yesterday.
Senior Superintendent Nicanor Targa, chief of the security and fire department of the Clark Development Corp. (CDC), identified the vehicular accident survivor as Lorenzo Nunag, 51, a resident of Barangay Burot, Tarlac City. His companion who was burned to death was one Lani Landicho, 21, of Capas, Tarlac.
Targa said Nunag was driving his Toyota sports car at high speed toward the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle hit a lamppost in the middle of Roxas Highway. Upon impact, the car swerved to the other lane and caught fire.
CDC security personnel rushed to the scene and helped Nunag get out of the car, but the fire had already engulfed the vehicle before Landicho could be rescued.
The incident caused a major traffic jam along the main highway, as firetrucks from the CDC and nearby towns put out the blaze.
Nunag remained at the Mt. Carmel Hospital here as of yesterday. His relationship with Landicho could not be immediately ascertained.
