3 FHM models, 2 others hurt in Bacolod road mishap
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Three female models of FHM magazine and two others sustained injuries when their vehicle smashed into a parked dump truck here early Saturday morning.
The injured models, identified as Karine Borador, 25; Pauline So, 26; and Jeramae Padolina, 24, were on their way to the Bacolod-Silay airport to catch the first flight to Manila after a series of activities here and in Iloilo City, when they met the accident.
Also hurt were the models’ companion, Michael Abergas, 25, and a bystander, Ramonito Esmalde, 19, a volunteer of ABS-CBN Bacolod’s Bantay Bata.
Esmalde was discharged from the hospital yesterday, while the three models, one of whom suffered a head injury, and Abergas were still recuperating at the Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital.
Investigation showed that the Mitsubishi Pajero that the models were riding smashed into the back of the dump truck of the Department of Public Works and Highways as it headed north of Lacson Street.
The impact caused the truck to move forward by about seven to eight feet, sideswiping Esmalde, who was installing traffic cones beside the road, said traffic investigator PO2 Eliseo Adraneda.
