Taal alert status lowered

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has lowered the alert status at Taal volcano in Batangas from 2 to 1 due to a significant decline in volcanic activity.

In an advisory, Phivolcs said the number of volcanic quakes recorded daily at Taal has gradually declined since the second week of July. – Helen Flores, Arnell Ozaeta
