Boy, 6, killed in landslide

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – A six-year-old boy was buried alive while three others were injured in rain-induced landslides in a mountain village in Ifugao last Wednesday, authorities said.

Vency Bulayungan, head of the Philippine Information Agency in Ifugao, said Grade 1 pupil Jayson Bantayan died when his house in Banaue’s View Point village was swept away by the mudslide. 

Those injured were identified as Dada Ann Ganggangan, 70; Isabel Ganggangan, 67; and their four-year-old grandson Jayjay. – Charlie Lagasca, Artemio Dumlao
