MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile yesterday urged authorities to file terrorism charges against the suspects in the kidnapping of Nuraldin Yusoph, son of Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Elias Yusoph.
Enrile made the recommendation after Yusoph and his son paid a visit to him at his Senate office in Pasay City yesterday morning.
Enrile said the young Yusoph’s kidnappers may have violated the Human Security Act because they demanded the reversal of a Comelec decision on an election-related case in Lanao del Sur.
Enrile admitted that he exerted extra effort in urging top police and military officials and the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct a relentless rescue mission for the young Yusoph.
