Graft raps set vs Cebu mayor

MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the Ombudsman has approved the filing or graft charges against the mayor and city attorney of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu for the “unlawful, whimsical and despotic” demolition of a causeway.

Mayor Arturo Radaza, in the absence of judicial proceedings, allegedly put up a notice signed by city attorney Vincent Joseph Lim declaring the causeway within the foreshore area of Goldpoint Land Corp. illegal because it supposedly had no owner based on city records and no building permit. The causeway was eventually torn down.
