Cavite job fair set

MANILA, Philippines - A one-day job fair for Caviteños will be held on June 12, at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite, as part of the Independence Day festivities.

Billed “Biyaheng Abroad Job and Fun Fair 2010,” the one-day event is organized by Smart Communications, Inc., through its Smart Pinoy brand, in partnership with the local governments of Kawit, Bacoor, Imus, and Noveleta, as well as the Department of Labor and Employment and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.

The fair will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with 65 placement and manning agencies participating. Job seekers are advised to bring their resumes. Other government agencies like the Social Security System (SSS), National Bureau of Investigation, and National Statistics Office (NSO) will also have booths.

During the fair, there will be an entertainment program, featuring Aegis, as well as games and contests. Prizes include P100,000 cash and mobile phones.  

Now on its third year, the fair is an annual service program of Smart for OFWs and their families, says Kathy Carag, International Services Marketing head.
