Truck slams into house; 3 dead, 3 hurt

DAVAO CITY , Philippines  – Three people, including a pregnant woman and her four-year-old son, were killed and three others were hurt when a 10-wheeler truck slammed into their house in Toril district here before dawn yesterday.

Authorities identified the fatalities as Neneng Pancho and her four-year-old son Jemar, and a certain Jeffrey, a tricycle driver who happened to be sleeping on his vehicle right in front of the Panchos’ house when the accident happened at around 2 a.m. yesterday.

Those injured were identified as a certain Maritess, Jemar’s seven-year-old brother Saning, and one Mark Anthony Dugos.

The truck driver escaped. Authorities said he could either be drunk or sleepy when the accident happened.
