MANILA, Philippines - Rock the Vote: Roadtrip to Change (RTV) is a concert caravan that will trail-blaze through different provinces, cities, municipalities and barangays in the country until May 3, inspired by the message that the power of change lies in everyone’s willingness to participate.
This creative and innovative people power and youth-oriented run will serve as an expression session for different people from various backgrounds such as visual art, music, filmmaking, photography, mountaineering, skateboarding and the like.
RTV will kick off in Pampanga today, making its way through North Luzon and will lead up to major concerts in Cagayan de Oro, the People Power Monument on EDSA, and Cebu.
At a crucial time where the traditional way is to tell the youth what to do, they are asked to take the lead by letting everyone know what they believe in.
The spirit of volunteerism fostered by RTV allows them to express their pride as Filipinos, in the language they speak.
Popular bands and musicians like Parokya ni Edgar, Kamikazee, Spongecola, Hale, Moonstar88, Itchyworms and Sugarfree and Noel Cabangon are set to perform, as a number of showbiz personalities will make appearances.
Further reaffirming that a groundswell of citizens fuels the yellow team’s campaign for change in place of a well-funded machinery, RTV taps into the support of local groups in designated stops and organizations like Youth For Noy or YoNoy, and Pinoy Power.
The Rock the Vote caravan comprises the final leg of the Liberal Party campaign with the youth at its forefront.
