Quezon ex-governor tops mock polls for Congress bet

-

LUCENA CITY , Philippines  – If elections were held today, former Quezon governor Eddie Rodriguez would resoundingly beat incumbent Rep. Danny Suarez for the third congressional seat in this province. In a mock elections held by the students of the Quezon National Agricultural School-TESDA in Malicboy on Feb. 26, Rodriguez got 70 percent of the total votes cast while Suarez got 30 percent.

Rodriguez, former Bondoc Peninsula Development Officer, was governor of this province from 1988 to 1998. He was also the former mayor of Macalelon.

When he was governor, he initiated the construction of the power plants in Mauban. Rodriguez is running under the Liberal party led by Gov. Raffy Nantes, under the tandem of presidential bet Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas.      – Michelle Zoleta
