2 cabalens named to government positions

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga , Philippines  – President Arroyo has appointed two fellow Kapampangans to top positions at the North Luzon Railways Corp. (Northrail Corp.) and the Technology Resource Center (TRC).

Malacañang’s External Affairs Secretary Edgardo Pamintuan said the President has appointed Paolo Hizon, a businessman from this town, as his replacement as president of Northrail Corp.

On the other hand, Dennis Cuna­nan, who hails from Magalang town, took over last week as the new director-general of TRC, a government corporation attached to the Department of Science and Technology.

Hizon’s appointment was prompted by Pamintuan’s candidacy for mayor of Angeles City.    – Ding Cervantes
