5 wedding guests die as truck falls off Quezon cliff

Aurora, Quezon , Philippines  – Five people were killed and several others suffered injuries when the Elf truck they were riding in plunged into a 30-foot deep ravine in Barangay Dianawa, Maria Aurora town this province yesterday, authorities said.

Senior Superintendent Romulo Esteban, Quezon police director, said the passengers of the truck came all the way from Pangasinan to attend a wedding celebration in Barangay Banco when the driver lost control of the wheel, sending the vehicle falling off the cliff along the national highway.

Responding policemen, together with some concerned citizens, rushed those injured to the Baler Provincial Hospital.   – Michelle Zoleta
