NPAs torch logging firm's trucks

- Ben Serrano -

BUTUAN CITY , Philippines  – Some 30 suspected communist rebels burned seven trucks and other heavy equipment at the timber concession areas of a logging company last Saturday morning, a belated police report said.

Torched were a payloader, two bulldozers, two dump trucks and four Rio Hauler five-ton cargo trucks, owned by Majure Industries and Development Corp.

The trucks and heavy equipment were parked at the depot of the Sky Forest Logging Co.

Police said the rebels disarmed and tied up the security guards of the logging firm and then torched the heavy equipment estimated to be worth P10 million.
